Helpful info

We have one hotel in Ayllón with a block. We had blocks and contracts with a few others in the region, but long story short, Spain doesn’t really do hotel blocks/discounts well (we found rooms becoming available at these hotels for cheaper than the “discounted” rates).

We’ve linked a few others on the Hotel & Lodging page that are beautiful and a range of prices across popular hotel networks. The shuttles will have a pickup and drop-off point near the center (Gran Via/Sol), so we’d suggest something centric so that you can walk home, but Taxi’s and Ubers are quite cheap and available at any hour.

There are also a handful of “rural houses” you can book through services like AirBnB (link for that included here).

We will coordinate shuttles between Madrid and the venue (there will be an early and a late shuttle wave for the return), but there will also be parking for anyone that has a car.

Don’t hesitate to ask us for assistance though!

Family, children, pets…extraterrestrials…all are welcomed! Seriously, we know this is a haul for some of you, so please don’t hesitate to bring along anyone that might make your attendance easier.

So yes, you all are free to bring a +1 and more. Just be sure to let us know. If your party changes, you can re-submit the RSVP. We’ll let you know the deadline once the venue shares that with us.

Whatever is comfortable! Spain in August can get hot (90*+). Dane is still TBD on a suit. If not, it will be a linen shirt and pants. Sorry if that doesn’t help…think summer cocktail outfits.

Friday: Nothing…we may end up going out for dinner and drinks somewhere in Madrid or Ayllón, in which case we’ll let everyone know, but energy will be saved for a long evening Saturday!

Saturday: Things will get going around 6pm with welcome drinks and a cocktail hour. There will be a quick ceremony, dinner, and then celebrations the Spanish-way (they don’t stop). The venue will kick us out at 5am at the latest.

Sunday: Nothing…we’ve lined up some good brunch spots in Madrid on the list of recommended places, but again, this is a Spanish wedding so you’re either gonna need Sunday to put humpty dumpty back together again, or to get on home. As for Dane and Elena, they’re off to California (rumor has it they’ll be at Burning Man, but that’s crazy…right?).

A grand party is the only gift we are looking for. We recognize this isn’t a convenient location for most of you, so we can’t ask for anything more than yourselves. But if you insist … we have a few items and a honeymoon fund here.

Shuttles will be scheduled from the Madrid to the venue and back.

Shuttles to the venue will depart Madrid center at around 4:30pm

Shuttles back to Madrid will be scheduled around 1:30am and 4am

There is onsite parking for anyone with their own mode of transportation.

Madrid will be the closest airport (approximately 1.5hr from Ayllón), but should you decide to make a trip out of this and fly into any of the other major cities around Spain, there are frequent regional flights to Madrid as well as a great high-speed train network.

Absolutely! Just let Dane or Elena know what dates you are thinking of traveling and we can help you create a trip that matches your interests.

As of now, yes! We will be getting details from the venue in February about deadlines on party size at which point we will provide a date for last call.

We anticipate a handful of families bringing kids already, so we will definitely be setting up some games and entertainment specifically for them.

And yes, there is also a special kids menu that can be served upon request. Items include:

  • Hamburgers
  • Pizza
  • Chicken Filet
  • Steak
  • French Fries
  • Ice Cream and Cake of course!

The only cash you might need would be for tipping a shuttle service if you are using one of the provided buses. Other than that, nope!
